About This Spot

Local knowledge & spot details

St Helens Parkside Jetty in St Helens, TAS, offers a fantastic land-based fishing experience right off the jetty. The structure provides a sturdy platform for anglers targeting a variety of species, including Australian Salmon, Bream, Mullet, Garfish, Squid, and Silver Trevally. Early morning and late evening sessions during high tide or the incoming tide are particularly fruitful, as these times often see fish actively feeding. It's also a popular spot at night, where the lights can attract baitfish and, in turn, larger predators. However, be mindful of the wind and tide movement, which can make fishing around the jetty a bit tricky at times. Whether you’re bait fishing or trying your luck with lures, this location is a great spot to cast a line and enjoy the scenic coastal views.
